Replace The Timing Belt And Tensioner
1. Inspection and replacement of timing belt
1. Timing belt inspection
(1) Disconnect the battery negative cable first, and then disconnect its positive cable.
(2) Disconnect the wire plug of the alternator, then remove the engine harness from the cylinder head, and remove the cylinder head cover.
(3) Remove the timing belt cover.
(4) Turn the crankshaft pulley counterclockwise to check whether the belt has cracks or organic oil or coolant stains. If any, it should be completely removed; if serious, the timing belt should be replaced. Check the tooth shape of the timing belt for wear and replace if necessary.
2. Adjustment of tension
(1) Rotate the crankshaft 5 to 6 times to adjust the preload.
(2) Put the first cylinder piston at the top dead center of the compression stroke.
(3) Loosen the adjustment nut 2/3 to 1 turn.
(4) Turn the crankshaft counterclockwise to rotate the timing belt on the camshaft pulley past 3 teeth.
(5) Tighten the wheel adjustment nut.
(6) After checking, re-tighten the crankshaft pulley bolts with a tightening torque of 245N · m.
3. Precautions for adjusting the tension of timing belt and balance shaft belt
Adjustments can only be made when the engine is cold; only the crankshaft can be turned counterclockwise (as viewed from the crankshaft pulley end); check the belt for oil or coolant sticking; loosen the adjusting nut not more than one full turn; the tensioning device is made of spring After loading, after adjustment, the tensioning device will automatically make the belt tensioning force meet the specified requirements
